The New Deal ISD to include all schools announced this year a change to its policy for serving meals to children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2019-2020 school year. Schools qualifying to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) provide breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
New Deal ISD is fortunate to be included in this program, which will benefit each and every student in our district. Note that no student will be charged for breakfast or lunch during the entire school year.
NDISD Welcomes Mr. Jeff Quisenberry as High School Principal
Beginning his career in Pampa, Texas as a math teacher and a coach, Mr. Quisenberry says he has been fortunate to work with great people and have a multitude of cool experiences. “Throughout my career, I taught a variety of math courses and was blessed to get the chance to coach multiple sports including: soccer, softball, track & field, powerlifting, wrestling, basketball, and football.” He said that he maintains to this day that it was WHO he taught and coached that was way more important than what he taught or coached.
“Those elements were at the heart of my decision to transition into campus administration when we took positions at West Texas schools in Stinnett, Texas.” He expressed that it was hard to leave the people that he and his family had developed relationships with and had done life with for four years, but he knew New Deal was where they wanted to be - “and we have loved every minute of being Lions!”
A goal Mr. Quisenberry has as an educator is to provide students with a well-rounded set of experiences that will enable each graduate to leave high school prepared to be college, career and life ready. “I absolutely believe in the importance of our public schools and the teachers who guide, direct and instruct our students, and it was this desire that compelled me to earn my graduate degree from Lamar University and pursue a career in school administration,” Mr. Quisenberry said.
Along with our new high school leader, NDHS has also gained another great teacher, as Mrs. Tanya Quisenberry joins the staff’s math department. The Quisenberrys have two children, Pacer who is a freshman, and Maile who is a 5th grader. “We joined the New Deal Nation because I recognized our values, beliefs, and the things we hold dear are the bedrock of New Deal,” Mr. Quisenberry said. “I want to raise my children and love my wife in a community that values hard work, following the Golden Rule, pursuing excellence and loving one another, and we are so excited to have found that in New Deal,” he added.
“I love being in New Deal and am so thankful to be able to serve as the principal of New Deal High School.” He also says he looks forward to coming to work each day and is excited to see all the great things the students of New Deal High School will accomplish this year.
The New Deal school and community is excited to welcome Mr. Jeff Quisenberry and his family, and we wish them the very best as part of our Lion Family
