New Deal ISD Welcomes Eric Gossett as Chief Financial Officer

By Tyler Seele,

New Deal ISD would like to formally introduce our new Chief Financial Officer Mr. Eric Gossett. Mr. Gossett comes to New Deal with twenty years of experience. Eric joins us after working in Lubbock ISD, where he served as Director of Payroll and Risk Management, and served in the role of Purchasing Coordinator before his last role at Lubbock ISD. Mr. Gossett started his career at Plainview ISD as Purchasing Agent.

He describes his job at New Deal as “overseeing all aspects of New Deal ISD finance, developing the budget, paying the bills, and processing the payroll.”

Mr. Gossett doesn’t just bring with him Finance Experience, as he also comes from small towns. He started high school at Blanket High School and finished and graduated at Sundown ISD. All through high school he participated in athletics, playing basketball, golf, and running track. He then continued his academics at Texas Tech University where he studied finance.

When he is not working, he is spending time at sporting events, working on his old cars, and going to the mountains. He has two children, one currently starting high school at Shallowater High School, and one starting at LCU this year to continue his running career. His wife, Tasha, works at Mackenzie Middle School. He also has two dogs he loves to spend time with.

Eric joined our district las year and has been working at New Deal since January 20th. He said he loves it here, the people are great here, and the school has lots to be proud of.

Superintendent of Schools Mr. Matt Reed said of Mr. Gossett, “He has had a big impact on New Deal ISD.

Mr. Gossett is a very determined and hard worker and will work late into the evenings and weekends to make New Deal ISD the absolute best that it can be.” Superintendent Reed also bragged about Mr. Gossett’s impeccable experience with school finance. We are excited to add Mr. Gossett to our New Deal family.
