Phillip Goodgion

Howdy!

 

I'm Phillip Goodgion, Director of Technology here at New Deal ISD. 

 

I grew up here in New Deal and I'm proud to say that I am a member of the NDISD Alumni. New Deal is my home, and I care deeply and passionately to see our school advance into the future. Most people don't know about my journey to this position, and I love talking about it! I was actually a teacher here at New Deal after graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Mathematics. I spent two years teaching 7th grade Math and Technology and LOVED every minute of it! While I was attending Texas Tech, I always had an interest in technology, and I worked for a local technology repair company. I fixed mobile devices and computers, learning a lot about not only how to repair and maintain equipment, but also how to enhance and improve user's knowledge of what they had. This passion for technology continued even after I started teaching at New Deal, and lead me to pursue the position of Director of Technology for the district. I can often be found roaming the district with my trusty backpack of supplies, helping out wherever I can. I'm proud of the innovations we've made here at New Deal ISD, and it always makes me smile watching what our students can do. From 3d printing to programming and robotics, it never ceases to amaze me just how much of a tool technology can be for our kiddoes! I am happy to be a part of NDISD, and in our ever changing world that continues to evolve and advance, I'm glad to say that I am a part of increasing our students' knowledge of technology and love seeing the successes it can bring!
